Current reporting and analytics environments consist of various line of business systems and custom in-house developed apps. These legacy environments often produce reporting models that do not reconcile, impacting both reliability and trustworthiness of the environment. The supporting technology layers are often rooted in legacy SQL Server technologies.

Current Environment Review: Get a thoroughly documented overview and detailed findings of the your current environment as well as a technical architecture. The review includes hardware, software, network, and data systems to provide a comprehensive understanding of the technical environment that helps form the basis of recommendations for modernization.
We will conduct both workshops/question & answer sessions with your technical team as well as direct evaluation of your core systems. To conduct the direct evaluation, OmniData consultants will need direct access to the environment. These sessions will be scheduled through the project team, during the project cycle.
Technical Environment Review: During this workstream, a detailed technical review of your environments is conducted. The overall configuration of the environment will be analyzed and documented. The review includes hardware, software, network, and data systems with the goal being to provide a comprehensive understanding of the technical environment that that is critical to make recommendations for modernization.
Source System Review: In this review session, current source systems connected to your environment is analyzed and documented. This includes the system location and access requirements. As part of the review the data volumes from each source system is assessed and documented.
Flatfile Repository Review: During this task, a detailed review of the current flatfile repository is conducted. Handling and processing flatfiles, depending on the complexity can present a challenge. A detailed understanding of the current process is critical in designing a performant, robust and hardened process.
Project Logic Review: This review allows the OmniData team to get a detailed understanding of the project configuration and logical processes involved in the project. Some of the key elements of the review include: Multi-environment Configuration, Source System Transfer Technology, Transformation logic location, Semantic Layer Configuration, History and Incremental Loading.
Data Warehouse Review: As part of this phase, the actual data warehouse in Microsoft SQL is reviewed. This includes the overall size and growth rates. The understanding built through this review is used in the planning of the data migration to your modern solution.
